Company History

Charles Rehbein started EBI Electronics in 1968 because a market existed for language lab installation and service. The greatest need was service for relatively new labs. Over the years EBI has evolved from a company selling and servicing strictly audio-based language labs to experienced experts in Multimedia Digital Learning Systems.

Beginning with his early experiments using wire recorders to increase his own proficiency in English, Charles Rehbein has continually led the search for new methods to use the latest technology to aid in the teaching of foreign languages. Through his efforts, EBI has established itself as the area's foremost authority in the design and implementation of these state-of-the-art learning centers. EBI installed some of the first electronic language labs in New England and has introduced new technology that has further increased both the educational capability and ease of use of these learning centers. The more recent development of new user-friendly instructional systems for teachers has substantially reduced the learning curve for end users and further increased the availability of this technology for progressive educational organizations.
